Therapeutic Counselling
Life can throw a lot of adversity our way and at times we can feel like it is near impossible to overcome these obstacles. Often the people closest to us wish to help but it is not always easy to open up deeply to our loved ones, especially if the issues concern them.
Having a therapeutic space where you can safely open up without fear of judgement or hurting someone’s feelings is really valuable and can be difficult to attain in most of the relationships we have with the people in our lives.
Counsellors do not give advice or tell you what you should do, instead we work with you to truly hear you and to help you to work out what you are feeling and thinking and ultimately work out what is right for you.
Counselling can help you to work on developing yourself to reach towards a more authentic self-image and to help you live in alignment with your true self.

My Counselling Approach
I offer a person-centred approach. This puts you, the client, at the centre of our work together. I will strive to provide you with a safe and confidential environment for you to explore your issues.
I listen without judgement, offer empathy and will always be genuine with you. I am here to listen to you, but not passively. At times I will offer reflections, observations and also use constructive questioning to explore what you are discussing to make sure that I can fully understand your frame of reference. I may also challenge statements if they are not in alignment with things you have previously talked of. It is always my intention to use this approach to help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your experiences.
I will work with you to understand what does and doesn’t work for you. You are an individual who needs a unique and tailored approach in order to feel in control of your therapeutic journey and I will endeavour to do what I can to help you find the right balance and pace that works for you.
